Races of the Week

Last week, Forty Acres finished seventh in the Super Derby. Fairbanks ran second in the Massachusetts Handicap.

This week, the Daily Racing Form's races of the week are the Flower Bowl Invitational Stakes at Belmont and the Goodwood Handicap at Santa Anita. Equibase's race of the week is the Kentucky Cup Classic at Turfway Park.

My selection in the Flower Bowl is Wait a While, who is undefeated at a mile and a quarter on the turf and can win from the lead or just off the pace. The Form provides free past performances.

In the Goodwood, Lava Man appears to be the class of the field, but he didn't appear to like the Polytrack at Del Mar. Today's race will also be run over Polytrack, so I'll try for the upset with Lewis Michael, who has won two in a row on the Polytrack at Arlington, and who races well off of a layoff. The Form provides free past performances.
