Races of the Week

Last week, Quite a Bride finished third in the Mrs. Revere Stakes, paying $3.00 to show. Dilemma finished second in the , paying $3.60 to place and $2.10 to show.

This week, the Daily Racing Form's races of the week are the Cigar Mile Handicap at Aqueduct and the DeFrancis Memorial Dash at Laurel Park.

My selection in the Cigar Mile is Silver Train, who appears likely to improve off of a disappointing performance in the Vosburgh Stakes. Silver Train is undefeated at a mile, including a win in the Metropolitan Handicap earlier this year. I think he could upset Discreet Cat. The Form provides free past performances.

In the DeFrancis, I'll pick Thor's Echo, who won the Breeders Cup Sprint earlier this month. The DRF provides free past performances.

Races of the Week

Last week, I saved some money. Rousing Victory, my selection in the Red Smith Handicap, was scratched when the race was moved to the main track. Brilliant, my selection in the Commonwealth Turf Stakes, was also scratched.

Today, the Daily Racing Form's races of the week are the Mrs. Revere Stakes at Churchill Downs and the Hollywood Prevue Stakes at Hollywood Park.

In the Mrs. Revere, I'll pick Quite a Bride. I think she'll be able to get the lead early and she's 4 for 5 at a mile and a sixteenth on the turf. The Form provides free past performances.

My selection in the Prevue is Dilemma, the only stakes winner in the field. The DRF provides free past performances.

Races of the Week

I did quite badly in the Breeders Cup. All of my selections finished out of the money except for Film Maker in the Filly and Mare Turf, who paid $5.80 to place and $4.40 to show. But all of that pales in comparison to the tragic death of Pine Island, who broke down in the Distaff.

This week, The Daily Racing Form's races of the week are the Red Smith Handicap at Aqueduct and the Commonwealth Turf Stakes at Churchill Downs.

In the Red Smith, I'll go with Rousing Victory, who is coming off a win at today's distance. The Form provides free past performances.

My selection in the Commonwealth Turf is Brilliant, who lived up to his name two starts back in the Kent Breeders Cup. The Form provides free past performances.

Races of the Week, Breeders Cup Edition

Last week, Ball Four, my selection in the Fayette Stakes, finished second, paying $6.40 to place and $4.80 to show. Aqueduct canceled last Sunday's card, including the Nashua Stakes.

This week, along with the rest of the Thoroughbred Bloggers Alliance, I'll try to pick winners in tomorrow's Breeders Cup races.

In the Juvenile Fillies, I'll go with Cash Included. Cash Included has shown she can win going around two turns. This race has historically been good for favorites. Brisnet.com provides free past performances via Todd Pletcher.

My selection in the Juvenile is Stormello. Stormello won the Norfolk Stakes and is coming off a bullet work at Hollywood. Brisnet.com provides free past performances via Bob Baffert.

In the Filly and Mare Turf, I'll bet Film Maker. She's never finished out of the money at this distance, and she's run well in this race the last two years. Brisnet.com provides free past performances via H. Graham Motion.

My selection in the Sprint is Pomeroy, who likes the distance and is coming off a win in the Forego Stakes. The Daily Racing Form provides free past performances.

In the Mile, I'll pick Echo of Light, who likes the distance. Echo of Light comes from the barn of Saeed bin Suroor, whose horses run well when making their first start in North America. Brisnet.com provides free past performances via Stronach Stables.

My selection in the Distaff is Pine Island. I think the pace sets up well for her. Brisnet.com provides free past performances via Stronach Stables.

In the Turf my selection is Go Deputy. Go Deputy likes the distance and trainer Todd Pletcher has him at the top of his game. The Daily Racing Form provides free past performances.

I don't see how they'll beat Bernardini in the Classic, He's my selection for the purposes of the TBA contest, but he'll probably go off at too short a price to bet. The Daily Racing Form provides free past performances via Equibase.
