Races of the Week

Last week, Stormello won the Hollywood Futurity, paying $8.80 to win, $4.60 to place, and $3.80 to show. Royal Highness was scratched from La Prevoyante Handicap.

This week, the races of the week are the Bonapaw Stakes at the Fair Grounds and the Squan Song Stakes at Laurel.

In the Bonapaw, I'll pick Chosen Chief. The only experienced turf sprinter in the race, Chosen Chief comes off a bullet work at the Fair Grounds. The Form provides free past performances.

My selection in the Squan Song is Mint Landing. She's never gone 7 furlongs before, but her Tomlinson rating indicates that she'll probably like the distance. I also think the pace will set up well for her. The Form provides free past performances.

Races of the Week

Last week, Symphony Sid finished sixth in the Hollywood Turf Cup. and Naughty New Yorker finished fifth in the Queen's County Handicap.

This week, the Daily Racing Form's races of the week are the Hollywood Futurity at Hollywood Park and La Prevoyante Handicap at Calder.

In the Futurity, it's hard to go against Stormello, who has been training well on the new cushion surface at Hollywood. Stormello caught Principle Secret in the stretch to win the Norfolk Breeders Cup back in October. He faces Principle Secret again today. The Form provides free past performances.

In La Prevoyante, I'll bet Royal Highness, who makes her third start in North America. Both of Royal Highness' wins came at today's distance of a mile and a half. The Form provides free past performances.

Last week, Bayou's Lassie, my selection in the My Charmer Handicap, finished second, paying $5.20 to place and $4.40 to show. I got busy and forgot to post a selection for the Bayakoa Handicap, so I probably saved some money.

This week, the Daily Racing Form's races of the week are the Hollywood Turf Cup at Hollywood Park and the Queens County Handicap at Aqueduct.

My selection in the Hollywood Turf Cup is Symphony Sid. Symphony Sid won his only other start at a mile and a half. He looks like the only speed in the race. The Form provides free past performances.

In the Queens County, I'll bet Naughty New Yorker, who has never finished out of the money on the inner track at Aqueduct, and is undefeated at the distance. The Form provides free past performances.

Races of the Week, Part I

I finally picked a winner last week. Thor's Echo won the DeFrancis Memorial Dash, paying $4.20 to win, $2.80 to place, and $2.40 to show. My other selection last week, Silver Train, finished third in the Cigar Mile Handicap, paying $2.10 to show.

This week, the Daily Racing Form's races of the week are the My Charmer Handicap today at Calder and the Bayakoa Handicap tomorrow at Hollywood Park.

In the My Charmer, I'll bet Bayou's Lassie, who is 5 for 6 lifetime and likes the Calder turf. The Form provides free past performances.

I'll post my selection for the Bayakoa later today or tomorrow morning.
